MISSION STATEMENT
Garlock Ministries was incorporated in September 1986 in Dallas, Texas, to
carry out the vision of John and Ruthanne Garlock: to help fulfill the Great
Commission as stated in Matthew 28:18-20.
Our primary goal in this mission has been to "make disciples" by teaching
leaders and ministers-in-training to effectively share the Gospel in their
own communities. These leaders are then encouraged to plant
churches and teach and train other disciples within those communities. HISTORY and CURRENT ACTIVITY In the years before John's death, we concentrated our efforts in teaching for
Bible schools and seminars for pastors, evangelists, and Christian workers in
various types of ministry in some 70 nations of the world.
Our special interest has always been to assist with training leaders in areas
where pastors and workers have little or no opportunity for formal training,
due to their remote location or their economic conditions. After John's sudden death in December 2003, only three days after returning
from his final missions trip to South Africa, the board appointed Ruthanne to
assume the leadership of Garlock Ministries, Inc. She continues to travel and
teach as God opens opportunities. But she also has stepped up the production
of John's materials in book, CD, and DVD formats to contribute to the training
of leaders. His book, Keys to Better Preaching, has been translated into
numerous languages for use in leadership training in many nations. In addition, the ministry distributes numerous books written by Ruthanne,
mostly in collaboration with her coauthor, Quin Sherrer. Many of these titles
are also available in Spanish and several other languages
(click on "Resources" to find a list of translations now available.) Garlock Ministries is funded through donations from churches and individuals
who support our vision, through speaking honorariums, and through the sale of
books and other resources. Ruthanne is available to teach for churches,
conferences and Bible schools on the Holy Spirit, missions, prayer,
spiritual warfare, and related subjects.
